the international sustainability investment centre is the new name for the country's sustainability hub which is fostering capital investment in sustainable enterprise. in march 2015, isic changed its name from green ifsc - but it also changed its focus to mirror global developments including the move to low-carbon economies as well as the growing demand for scarce resources. the concept for the original green ifsc initiative was approved by cabinet in 2011 and was a public-private output of the clearing house group and the department of the taoiseach. green ifsc was originally established to promote and position ireland as a global location for 'green finance'. its main aim was to increase such assets managed, administered or deployed in or from ireland almost ten-fold to €200 billion by 2020. isic is continuing on this work but has also evolved to include the financing and investing of sustainability enterprise sectors at a domestic and international level. we want to transform irela
