created in 1953 by a group of students, the international student identity card (isic) is the only internationally accepted proof of full-time student status. the isic card is currently issued in over 130 countries and gives access to more than 150,000 discounts and benefits worldwide for approximately 5 million cardholders each year. the isic card is endorsed by organisations such as unesco, unwto, the european council on culture and the andean community of nations. isic also offers the iytc card (international youth travel card) for anyone under 30 years old, and the itic card (international teacher identity card) for teachers and professors, allowing them to be part of the isic global community and take advantage of thousands of similar benefits and discounts that the isic student card offers.
