isight is an mit startup aiming to help blind and visually impaired patients in navigating the environment. despite technological advances, visually impaired patients still rely on traditional tools such as white canes and guide dogs to navigate the streets and buildings. these tools are however not always effective. furthermore, developed assistive technologies are expensive and non-accessible for many. building on recent advancements in ai and bone conduction, isight aims to provide affordable computer vision glasses that alert patients in case of safety hazards (e.g., moving vehicle traffic, ceiling-hanged objects, pedestrian signals/signs, etc.)
