Ithemba Mentorship and Development

ithemba mentorship and development (imad) is an ngo operating currently in the buffalo city metro in the eastern cape province, south africa and has been in existence since 2013. recently we saw a need to expand to other areas in south africa and the region when possible, given the educate her alliance that we are part of which is a combination of ngos in the eastern and southern that fight against teenage pregnancy. imad seeks to empower young people, girls from rural/peri urban areas with necessary lifeskills that address the social challenges such as hiv/aids/srh; gbv; intergenerational poverty - unemployment, illiteracy/school dropout/teenage pregnancy; lack of rolemodels. the outcomes we hope to achieve are: healthy choices, informed decision making, independence, the highest standard of education acquired, engaging in entrepreneurial opportunities and positive role models for next generation. outdoor experiential learning/camps, story telling, small and big group discussion
