growing up in fort wayne, in itzshlz was always involved with music, from school and church choirs to singing and playing instruments at home. he just wanted to be around the sound of music. after school he would always watch bet shows like rap city and 106&park with thoughts of being on there one day. it wasn't until later in his life after dealing with the death of his sister "lakia lasha dixie" where he took that passion and drove to turn it into more than a hobby. ​ along with his passion for creating music, itzshlz always loved hearing music playing in the background of the movie during that emotional breakup scene, that suspense filled moment, or the popular club scene with a goal to have his music featured in a movie one day. that led him to discovering his ability to songwrite music across other genres than his own while still maintaining his authenticity. ​ throughout the years he stayed consistent in perfecting his sound and has branded himself with a unique sound and v
