j b woodworks was founded in glasgow, scotland in 2014. we actively design assist and manufacture high quality custom wood pieces including; butcher blocks, cheeseboards, phone cases, watch boxes, wedding gifts, bar and restaurant custom interiors, furniture and signage. it began when moving into my first home, when i decided to make something individual to blend in with the kitchen, i came up with the idea of making a large butcher block with a simple tree design on it. many of my friends and family began to ask where i had purchased it and upon learning that i made it, i had a few friends asking for their own custom design for weddings and gifts. from here on, orders from friends and acquaintances came flying in for their own personal designs and ideas. i very quickly branched out into trying my hand at more elaborate builds and my business continues to grow. i owe my growing success to my friends and family for challenging me with new ideas.
