Jake's House for Children With Autism

jake's house takes a holistic approach to supporting families affected by autism. firstly, we aid these families through the legends mentoring program, which provides one-on-one support to children with autism. paired with caring mentors, the children gain a personal advocate—a legend—to understand, encourage and guide them. more specifically, they receive opportunities to: - increase self-esteem and decrease anxiety - increase community engagement and sense of inclusion - help develop communication and social skills, improving social experiences - improve relationship with peers launching in five regions throughout ontario with potential to expand nationally, this program is delivered by a partnership between jake's house and big brothers big sisters of canada, as well as with the support of the ontario provincial government. secondly, we host events, such as our annual holiday christmas party now its 13th year, that are designed to provide families affected by asd with safe, comforta
