a family owned practice serving the chicago western suburbs since 1959. dr. samuel c. vitale started the practice in addison, il in 1959. his son dr. james a. vitale joined the practice in 1986, and dr. samuel has recently retired. dr. james a. vitale focuses on the total health of the eye, treating infections, diseases and injuries to the eye. he provides comprehensive eye exams that will allow each patient to achieve optimum vision. dr. vitale uses state of the art equipment, including digital photography, visual fields, and we offer nerve fiber screening for glaucoma and macular degeneration twice a year. he co- manages cataract and lasik surgeries working closely with some of the best surgeons in the area. our selection of eyewear ranges from the modestly priced to the top designers. we also seek out new frame designers for those looking for the newest trends. our in house lab and full time optician makes it convenient for our patients to fill their prescriptions in a timely fashio
