Jesuit European Social Centre (Jesc)

the jesuit european social centre (jesc) is a non-profit organisation engaging in advocacy and developing initiatives on a range of themes including mineral resources in africa, european citizenship, and ecology. jesc is proactive in building and maintaining relationships within the european union institutions and with ecclesial institutions and networks such as the ‘commission of the bishops’ conferences of the eu (comece)’ and the ‘conference of european churches (cec).’ jesc also co-ordinates an international ecology network producing the online publication ‘ecojesuit’ as well as producing a monthly journal entitled ‘europinfos’ in collaboration with comece. the position of social coordinator of the european conference of jesuit provincials has now been transferred to jesc in order to create synergies with other jesuit works, directly with poor and marginalised people such as asylum seekers, migrants, minors and minorities. through a long tradition of reflection, publishing in recog
