jse believes that some problems are too complex to be solved in a conventional manner. energy is one of these problems. jse is developing systems to harness energy of winds blowing at high elevations(300-500m). this kind of technology is usually referred to as airborne wind energy (awe) or high-altitude wind energy. each unit will contain a hard wing aircraft with automated flight controls, a tether to transmit the mechanical tension and a ground station with a generator. the whole system is intended to bring down the cost of electricity.
