Jonah Ecological Kindergarten

jonah ecological kindergarten aims to give the youth of a local indian fishermen and farmer community near calcutta access to pre-school ("kindergarten") and after school education ("tuition class"). support is given through the construction and running of a micro school with library. the educational program is based on both the theoretical and practical development of core skills: artistic expression, solidarity, ecology and responsible citizenship, but also maths and language. teachers and support staff commit to ecologic, organic and fair trade principles. the story of jonah and the whale is an inspirational example of education for children: obedience, faith and forgiveness. the story is also a tribute to nature by promoting an attitude of humility, wonderment and respect for the creation. the founders, patrizia and frederick aim to call the childen as future preservers for the earth and its habitants.
