joro is a technology that helps individuals make more sustainable everyday decisions by introducing a high resolution real-time emission tracking system for smartphones. our mission: move energy consumption to the forefront of the decision-making process and spark an ecological movement towards a sustainable energy future. joro is a state-of-the-art passive data collection and analytics platform developed over the past six years at mit, and capable of monitoring a user’s transportation, residential, and retail purchase activity. each data point, is then converted into a metric of co2 equivalent and used to calculate a holistic carbon impact score. through this technology, joro facilitates a first of its kind micro-carbon credit market: a platform where users can compete, trade, and engage to earn rewards for smarter consumption, save money, and reduce their carbon emissions.
