the junior league of the emerald coast began in 1964 with five women dedicated to making a difference in their community. today the junior league of the emerald coast is an organization of nearly 300 northwest florida panhandle women of diverse backgrounds who demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to voluntarism. the members of the junior league of the emerald coast strive to uphold our mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving our community. the jlec is an organization of approximately 300 women who share a commitment to voluntarism in our community. we are a diverse group of women - doctors, lawyers, teachers, business women and stay at home mothers. as a member of the association of junior league's international, we are part of a global team with 293 junior leagues from the united states, canada, mexico, and the united kingdom. local members benefit from being a part of this global team by sharing ideas and community projects which are
