the junior league of helena is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. our history in the summer of 2020, during the covid-19 pandemic, the founding members came in synergy to create positive change and an outlet for women to gather and empower the community. at the time, the united states was reeling and fighting against a worldwide pandemic as a million people died in a deadly virus and business doors shut, leaving many people out of work struggling to make ends meet. the founding members held a statewide event for a free laundry day to help economically during the pandemic. they also put a spotlight on suicide prevention by going through training through the lewis and clark public health and getting question persuade refer certified to publicize tackling mental health within the s
