founded in april 2013, justlikeyou.org (jly) is a u.s. based non-profit providing a free & anonymous social network for people going through the coming out process. our network will be a place of self discovery free of judgement and led by individual's personal stories. in order to eliminate the pervasive burden of coming out, we have created a strategy that involves three major components: 1) developing technology - there’s no arguing that technology is here to stay. in addition to our soon-to-be-launched website, we are currently raising funds to develop a mobile application extension and additional features on our network to allow people to connect around the world. 2) coordinating lgbtq competency trainings - education is key. though we do not operate to provide any in-crisis, medical, and/or mental health advise we want our volunteers and chapter officers to be able to refer users to the best resources that operate in those spaces. developing educational curriculums, hiring traine
