kagi (pronounced car-gee, gee as in geewhiz) began in 2006 from kat gee’s desire to create designer jewellery that was bold and simple, using both real gemstones and real pearls. kagi creates designer jewellery with a difference. kat, a previous nz design ambassador has always had a passion for jewellery and design. from the young age of 8 selling fimo pendants at school to playing dress-ups in her grandmother’s bead drawers, a career in jewellery seemed almost inevitable. she recalls the moment of realisation: ‘i was relaxing on the jetty at my family holiday home in the marlborough sounds and i asked myself: if i could do anything or be anything what would it be? the answer that came back to me was be a jewellery designer. this has always been my passion and dream. my design style is unique to anything else on the market and kagi really fills a real gap with affordable designer jewellery that uses quality materials in a simply classic way.’ kagi is now proudly stocked in top destinat
