in 2015, two sisters found that the market lacked a certain type of ‘tudung’ or scarf. most scarfs that were easy to wear were made of cotton-like fabrics, while shiny and silky scarves tended to require lots of styling to look good. this led to the search for the perfect material, a special type of satin-silk that looked rich and elegant, but was heavy enough to be designed as an insta-shawl. while heavy, the material also had to be cooling in view of malaysia’s hot and humid weather.
