the kansas homestead rehabilitation corporation (khrc) was established as a private, non- profit corporation in kansas during the reconstruction years, following the great depression. not an entity of the federal or state government, khrc is purely a private, non-profit, corporation. khrc's assets are used only for providing low-interest lending to farmers facing temporary financial hardships. khrc works very closely with the federal government in the augmentation of funds used by the farm service agency (fsa) through the provision of low-interest subordinated operating loans. khrc's most active program is that of providing funding for agricultural operating loans received through subordination by the fsa. khrc also offers a beginning farmer program and farm real estate lending program also in conjunction with the fsa.
