kids busy book(r) is an online directory featuring attractions for kids, places to visit in california, what to do in sacramento, and fun family places. kids busy book was founded in january 2012 by me, dawn pedersen. i am a mother of a toddler and i teach web design at three colleges. i have a ba in studio art, an ma in education, and i have been a web and graphic designer since 2000. i grew up in los angeles, but i have lived in northern california since 1980. my husband, son, and i live in west sacramento. i created this site in response to a huge interest among my mommy friends in finding local activities that appeal to children, particularly the very young. other resources exist, but this is the only site in this region that lets you explore child-friendly destinations near you on the interactive map. over time, the directory has grown to showcase attractions throughout northern california, and promises to cover much more in the future. it has now become very much a group effort o
