having spent a combined 30 years working in the property industry, in 2018 we started kite flooring to give design professionals access to beautiful floors at a fair price. before founding kite, we were both directors at the uk’s largest provider of furniture to the property sector, working with wide-ranging clients from individual landlords up to ftse companies. in 2017 we were invited to one of europe’s largest flooring factories and it was there that the concept of kite was born. we realised that the buying experience for flooring could be improved in almost every way. it was clear that professionals often overpaid for flooring, as developers and designers tend to use their “flooring guy” or building contractors who rarely buy direct and tend to add a further margin to the final price, and possibly on the fitting too. we were also overwhelmed by the vast number of flooring options, often with very little noticeable difference between them. so our aim is to take the guesswork ou
