Biswa - Basundhara Institute of Social Welfare and Awareness

biswa is a small west bengal based ngo with a big heart. founded in 2010 by a group of professors, lecturers and small business owners in and around kolkata, it primarily aims to support students from less financially privileged homes with necessary aid and mentoring. biswa currently has 20+ members and have a strong partnership with various academic institutes in west bengal, india. the main objectives for which the society was established are: 1) to impart education to financially challenged students and organize art, music, drama, and other cultural events. 2) to provide financial help to orphans, the poor, aged and sick in events of sickness, accidents, marriage and funeral. 3) to arrange special health check-up and awareness camps on social issues like drugs, superstition, dowry system, pollution, health and hygiene etc. 4) to arrange vocational training for women to allow them to be self-employed. 5) to distribute clothes, books etc. to orphans and underprivileged children during
