the spine research institute (sri) is a unique group of multi-disciplinary experts and facilities dedicated to systematically improving the way we prevent, evaluate, and treat spine and other musculoskeletal disorders (msds). we accomplish this mission through causal pathways research, education, and the development of platform technologies. the foundation of the spine research institute was created in 1982 by our executive & scientific director, dr. william marras. what began as a small faculty research lab quickly evolved into a growing collaboration between experts in a variety of complementary fields across engineering, life sciences, and medicine. in 2012, the spine research institute was officially born to recognize a formal collaboration between the college of engineering and the college of medicine at the ohio state university. as we grow, we continue to include new experts, partners, laboratories, and capabilities in our shared journey to lessen the physical, emotional, a
