the oxford university motor drivers’ club (oumdc) was established in 1934 to contest the ‘battle of the blues’ race event with cambridge university. the competition ignited an intense sporting rivalry which would become the prestigious annual varsity match. the club is inclusive to all forms of motorsport interest including esports, and to every level of experience. the club began racing bikes and cars, and in more recent times, go-karting has become the primary activity. the club offers casual indoor karting events, hosts the annual inter-college cuppers match, and encourages experienced drivers to compete in the british indoor karting championship and the outdoor british universities karting championship. the club also arranges a variety of meet-ups and motorsport trips. rest assured that no previous experience of karting is necessary, and no driving license is required. the vast majority of our members when they first join the club start having never been karting or raced just once
