Ovokado

ovokado is a young start-up from hanover, northern germany. over the last couple years, we have traveled the world and wherever we went, we have met creative people that expressed themselves through their crafts and art. after a longer stay in uganda, we came up with the idea to offer a platform to those people. ovokado is the result of this idea. we want to build bridges between creative people and those who can get inspired by it. we are no mass production of fantasy jewelry. ovokado’s jewelries are telling the stories of people that have been unheard for too long. what we are doing ovokado is working together with marginalized groups from northern uganda. even though the country has experienced relative political stability over the last couple of years with modest economic growth, areas in the north of the country have suffered under the conflicts provoked by the rebel leader kony. many families have been torn apart and family members have been lost. a great number of widowed women
