the european union is a global player, and eu policies have an impact on people worldwide. this is why oxfam challenges eu policies so they work for people in poverty. one person in three in the world lives in poverty. oxfam is determined to change that world by mobilizing the power of people against poverty. the eu's global impact goes far beyond development policies. in oxfam's eu office, we work to influence key decision-makers to ensure that eu policies on tax, bioenergy, migration, climate change and other issues work for those most in need. the eu office is part of the oxfam international secretariat, which supports and coordinates the work of national oxfam affiliates and oxfam country teams around the world. the eu office also works together with with civil society allies from brussels and beyond.
