"oxford school of excellence (ose), formerly known as bala hissar academy (bha) is a co-educational day and boarding school situated at 5 municipal road, dehradun, uttrakhand and is operated by bala hissar academy society, a non-profit society. it was established on 18th july 1983 by group. capt. (late) sardar amanullah and his wife mrs. humera amanullah, upon his retirement from the indian air force. the original name of bala hissar, which means “the citadel at the top”, is derived from the historic fortress in afghanistan, the ancestral home of the founders. initially established as a primary school it grew rapidly and by 1988 had obtained full accreditation from the council for the india school certificate examinations (cisce), new delhi."
