the oxfordshire discovery college is a brand new initiative; one that we hope will give young people the tools to be happier, healthier, and to understand themselves better. if you haven’t heard of a discovery college before, you’re probably not the only one. it’s an approach that has been gaining increasing popularity in a number of countries internationally, including the uk. so what is a discovery college? and who is it for? it’s a place where you can be with people who understand, where you can learn about what you’re feeling and what you can do to make things feel a bit better. we bring together professional expertise in mental health and coping tools, along with lived experience. this means that some of the people working at the discovery college will have lived experience of having a mental health problem, or of caring for a young person who does. it’s for children and young people who might be struggling with their mental health and wellbeing. but it’s also for their friends
