welcome to student lunchbox, where we fight food insecurity among college students in los angeles, california. student lunchbox (slb) is a nonprofit organization that serves college student welfare in los angeles, california. slb believes that there is an unspoken problem in many states, including california, that disregards the current catastrophic situation related to campus hunger. it is estimated that nearly half of the college students in los angeles county do not have the financial means to sustain their living, which leads to hunger insecurities and decreased graduation rates. often, students are bound to skipping meals, taking hunger naps, sleeping in their cars, or finding themselves in a state of virtual poverty and homelessness - all in the name of higher education. slb was founded to address this problem by encouraging and reinforcing change with our actions. we are committed to soliciting foods and boarding essentials and distributing to low-income college students to
