Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology (Slintec)

established in 2008, slintec is a joint venture between the national science foundation of sri lanka and sri lankan corporate giants brandix, dialog, hayleys, loadstar and mas. slintec was initiated as private institution in a historical partnership between the government and corporate sector to fill the much required gap for research & development within the country. distinctive to slintec is its strict policy of sustainability-centered innovation. through various means, such as the application of a sustainability-filter upon all its projects, slintec strives to create a no-unsustainable development environment. slintec combines this with its vision & values to ensure the long-term sustainability of its nano-products as well as the safety of its laboratory facility for its occupants. located within the biyagama export promotion zone, slintec’s laboratories are equipped with some of the best nanotechnology research equipment available in the region.
