socat was founded in 2017 by troy edwards. originally from sydney, australia he has held various positions in a variety of industries but his primary focus since leaving school has been within the aviation sector. in 2000 he was offered the opportunity to take a position with a major international airline based in hong kong and has been there ever since. when the aviation industry entered a significant downturn in early 2020 due to the spread of covid-19, he found a desire to connect people in a slightly different way than what he was used to. findtat soon became a passion and the primary objective turned to getting the platform operational so users could maintain their ability to connect with one another not only locally, but internationally throughout the many lockdowns and border closures that the world was experiencing at the time. our plan is to develop the platform and grow it organically. we need a strong user base, so we'll listen to member feedback and incorporate as many
