we are a social support service dedicated to improving our efforts in addressing loneliness and social isolation in australia. our trained volunteers make friendship phone calls and video calls to people in our community that need someone. we help people who are isolated and suffer from loneliness due to mental health, old age, disabilities or living in remote locations. social buddy volunteers are trained in deep listening and social skills to strengthen their connection with individuals in our community. by building connections with regular check-ins, we help improve social skills, confidence, self-esteem, and positive emotions. how does social buddy work? • we match people who need a buddy with volunteers of similar interests. • our volunteers make friendship phone calls or video calls on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. • calls are up to one hour. • our volunteers are trained in deep listening and making friendly connections with empathy. • participants are supported with
