Social Justice Center

the social justice center is a collaboration of progressive non-profit organizations. the sjc was founded in 2000 when wisconsin community fund, madison community cooperative, tenant resource center, and citizen action of wisconsin education fund teamed up to create a non-profit office center with a social justice focus. resident organizations share the responsibilities of administration, maintenance, and governance of the building. located in the lower level of the sjc is the incubator, a no-frills shared office space that serves small and start-up non-profit organizations. the main floor features a community meeting room available for use by the organizations in the building. the room is also available to non-profit organizations and community groups not resident to the building. also in the sjc is the jackie macaulay gallery, a gallery for artists to display local, socially conscious, social justice-inspired, and humanitarian-themed art.
