the social justice institute of malaysia began as a collaborative initiative in 2019 between two sister co-founders engaged in research and advocacy work around social justice and environmental justice issues in malaysia and beyond. we are focussed on providing access to social justice resources, impacting public policy and conducting research. we work explicitly from an intersectional, anti-oppressive and decolonial framework. we hope to bring together people from diverse backgrounds to engage meaningfully towards the pursuit of systemic just change. we are a non-partisan organization, however we believe it is vital to engage with the political.
