our world faces many challenges arising from climate change, population growth, and inequality. above them, there is the complexity, which makes our future unpredictable. groups working on solutions are very diverse, consisting of people who represent different approaches, values, and perspectives. to conquer this complexity and reach a sustainable future for all, these working groups have to gain a shared understanding of the problem. they have to be able to see all the complicated interconnections in the system. but most of all, they have to collaborate effectively. collaboration under uncertainty is never an easy task. even if the perfect solution existed, it would be hard to implement because of the human nature and related problems of overlapping needs, miscommunication or irrational decision-making. our social simulations offer an opportunity for people to engage in problem solving that is not only about policies and plans, but also about the relationships and personal inter
