la sociedad mexicana de ingeniería sísmica a. c. (smis) es una asociación técnica fundada en 1962. el objetivo de la smis es avanzar en investigación y desarrollo científico y tecnológico en temas relacionados con los terremotos y sus efectos en las construcciones y en las personas que las habitan. nuestra asociación pretende reunir a las personas interesadas en los problemas de ingeniería sísmica con el propósito de llevar a cabo intercambio de ideas, conocimientos, experiencias, investigación y tecnología. para este fin, se organizan eventos técnicos y científicos, como: cursos, seminarios, mesas redondas, congresos, simposios, entre otros. además, la smis edita la revista “ingeniería sísmica” que tiene como objetivo difundir los resultados de investigaciones originales, así como logros en innovación y desarrollo tecnológico de la práctica profesional en el área de ingeniería sísmica.
