la societat catalana de sexologia començada a gestar l'any 1969 és una entitat de dret públic, actualment d'acord amb el que estableixen les lleis del parlament de catalunya, en especial la les del llibre tercer del codi civil català i a la llei orgànica que regula el dret d'associació. la societat desenvolupa, des de sempre, les seves activitats en el marc de l'acadèmia de ciències mèdiques i de la salut de catalunya i balears, entitat mes que centenària al nostre país que agrupa totes les branques de les ciències de la salut. a la societat catalana de sexologia ens hi agrupem mes de cent professionals vinculats amb les ciències de la salut ,no pas tots exercint la sexologia clínica, però com sabem, gairebé totes les especialitats de la salut es toquen en un moment o altre i la sexologia no n'es pas una excepció, ans el contrari, la sexologia és cada cop més transdisciplinar i la manera d'exercir-la també, des de la societat, la junta directiva, propugnem un model transdisciplinar d
