society for rational dress was founded by designer, corinne grassini, in 2004. the contemporary womenswear collection is based on combining form and function into comfortable, classic pieces. inspirations that inform the collection are based in architecture; the masculinity of metal and leather details on each piece in the collection are always juxtaposed with feminine qualities of a sheer jersey or silk chiffon. these details have caught the eyes of collaborators such as satine, japan, onward kashiyama, and barney's new york. society for rational dress has also designed and produced exclusive collections for specialty boutiques such as shopbop, scoop and intermix as well as private label collections for barney's and anthropologie. by 2012, society for rational dress had grown to ship to over 200 boutiques and department stores worldwide. after nearly 10 years in business, designer corinne grassini, created the last society for rational dress collection for spring 2013. she decided to
