Society for Social Ecology

what is social ecology? as a body of ideas, social ecology envisions a moral existence that moves beyond scarcity and hierarchy, toward a world that reharmonizes human communities with the natural world, while celebrating diversity, creativity and freedom. what do we do? activism: democracy is a slow-moving process. environmental destruction is not. our situation requires its citizens to rally and demand immediate action. this society will organize and spotlight protests and rallies in the hopes uofg students will add their own voices. education: a new future demands a new system of thought. in seminars and discussion, we will equip you with the principles and ideas of social ecology. research: social ecology is an interdisciplinary field pulling heavily from both the sciences and the humanities. students from across the disciplines will research and work towards feasible solutions for issues that come under the umbrella of social ecology on the local level and beyond.
