society for sustainable land management - university of california los angeles the sslm los angeles chapter is a professional organization that is open to all undergraduates, grad students, and professionals. we were founded at ucla in 2017. our mission is to promote scientific research, dialogue, and policy awareness on matters related to the conservation, protection, and management of land resources and local environment within the santa monica mountain region. the society is focused to connect students with conservation professionals and activists within the los angeles area through networking events, seminars, workshops, and volunteer opportunities. our society holds the focus to engage in activities both on and off campus which will provide members with tacit conservation experience to partner with their studies and or interest. such experiences that the society sets out to provide will be ideal for professional development skills and opportunities.
