the society of forensic interviewers (sofi) is the name of a registered not-for-profit company founded in 2013 with the purpose of establishing a self-regulatory quality standard for ethical investigative interviewing. the society also provides information, accredited training courses, and other services to members. there are three main membership levels: associate - open to anyone with an interest in ethical investigative interviewing professional member - requires prior training/experience academic member - requires relevant academic credentials all members are eligible to complete the sofi theory of ethical investigative interviewing course and become an accredited member, or accredited practitioner, or accredited training practitioner. the course is only available as a distance learning course through the sofi website.
