Sociology North

sociology north is a collective of individuals, based at the university of sunderland, who are passionate about putting sociology into action! ​ we want to challenge the idea that sociology is a 'useless' degree, whilst making clear links between sociology, employability and every day life. ​ alongside this, we now have the capability to be used as a catalyst for members to develop their own sociologically focused projects, that will benefit the wider community. ​ and finally, typical ideologies around 'northern' have been developed by those in the south, so we would like to provide our own narratives surrounding what is meant by 'the north'.
