socpra was created in january 2007 by the université de sherbrooke to establish an entity dedicated to accelerating the protection, exploitation and valorization of research results. in fact, the evolution of the service d'appui à la recherche, à l'innovation et à la création (saric) activities and the significant increase in its invention disclosures lead to the need to create an independent entity self-directed and dedicated to the protection and commercialization of research results with commercial potential. the université de sherbrooke is socpra's sole partner. in the future, other organization may partner with socpra. socpra is an independent corporation with its own board of directors compose of business people. our mission : 1- manage the intellectual property derived from research performed at the université de sherbrooke and its affiliated institutions. 2- advance technologies in order to attract partners. 3- apply valorization strategy to commercialize technologies, either a
