softrust vision analytics has as main activity the research and development of intelligent video processing algorithms. some refer to as video analytics (va) or video content analysis (vca). vca is the capability of automatically analyzing video to detect and determine temporal events not based on a single image. as such, it can be seen as the automated equivalent of the biological visual cortex. on the other hand video analytics term is typically associated with analysis of video streams acquired by surveillance systems. video analytics based applications can perform a variety of complex tasks ranging from real-time processing of video content for immediate detection of events of interest, to analysis of footage with the purpose of extracting relevant information (also known as forensic analysis).
