Soggy Hollow House Project

soggy hollow house project is an experiment in small-footprint permaculture and urban agriculture in fayetteville, arkansas. in october 2014, we finalized the purchase of a small house on a fractional acre lot with the goal of providing a home for our family and an educational experience for our community. we chose fayetteville, in part, because of the protections the laws here bestow on urban agriculture, offering its citizens the opportunity to create food security for themselves by growing and raising their own food. soggy hollow house project earned its name as we quickly discovered that the property retains water, quite well, for approximately eight months out of the year. perhaps it has been an unusually wet winter and spring, but the soggy hollow moniker has stuck. the "project" part of the name comes from the never-ending lists of improvements and permacultural experiments we keep dreaming up for this place. currently in the works is the conversion of the traditional front yard
