soils for life is an australian non-profit organisation dedicated to encouraging and supporting the widest possible adoption of regenerative agriculture across australia. founded by former retired major general michael jeffrey, we exist so that farmers feel supported on their journey to developing productive, resilient and regenerating landscapes. we believe that healthy soils are essential to life. they play a critical role in human health and happiness. they support us to produce nutrient-rich food. they help provide ecosystem services like clean water and air. healthy soils also retain water and promote biodiversity. not only that, they help to regulate the earth’s climate and store more carbon than all of the world’s forests combined. but australia has an alarming problem. two thirds of our soils have disappeared since european settlement. the good news is regenerative agriculture helps restore our soils. at soils for life, we support farmers and land managers across australia w
