Sojörn

the ankara-based artist duo sojörn consists of müge i̇rem beyazıt and ekin ünal. their collaborative art practice started in 2019, after meeting during their architecture studies. as artists, designers, and architects, both share an interest in spaces, encounters and materialities. in their work, the duo blends these shared interests with their individual creative practices to produce assemblages and installations with a variety of mediums and materials ranging from traditional to unconventional. their practice is informed both by their roots in architecture, and by the material explorations they conduct. the material language they generate mainly includes found objects, sheets made from plastic waste, leftovers and scraps. alongside their practice as an artistic duo, sojörn also operates as an art/artists alliance project with beyazıt and ünal’s own identities as artists, curators and architects at its core, expanding and contracting through other creatives. the duo is interested in
