solace house provides free confidential therapeutic support for individuals who are experiencing suicidal ideation, suicidal distress, depression and anxiety, as well as those who engage in self-harm. all of our therapists are licensed clinical social workers and we are completely free of charge. our service also provides bereavement counselling for those who have lost someone to suicide and we extend family support to our clients’ loved ones. a family member or friend can make an appointment. solace house was founded by joan freeman, a psychologist and a senator in the irish parliament, and the founder and former ceo of pieta house ltd. ireland. after many successful and effective years of service in ireland, senator freeman established a similar program in new york city in 2015, opening the first us location in the new york irish center building in queens. operating under the name of solace house, we are proud to offer our free and confidential services to all. solace sunrise walk &
