located in long island city, queens and yonkers, solace house is a non-profit organization that provides free counseling for people who are in suicidal distress, have made a suicide attempt, engage in self-harm, and/or have been bereaved by suicide. we also offer group bereavement counseling, family support for our client’s loved ones and community awareness workshops. our services are completely free of charge, confidential and all our therapists are licensed clinical social workers with years of experience in the area of suicide prevention and mental health. according to the american foundation for suicide prevention, one person every five hours dies by suicide in new york state. therapy costs in nyc can be expensive and intimidating without the right insurance. here at solace house we believe money should never come in the way of saving someone's life, therefore, our services are free of charge and we do not require any insurance to attend. in order to keep our doors open and free
