solace in business (sib), formerly solace enterprises limited, is a well established and successful consultancy specialising in supporting the public sector. we are part of the solace group and are solely owned by solace (society of local authority chief executives and senior managers). we operate commercially on `not-for-profit` business principles, reinvesting any surplus income to fund public sector research, policy development and promoting the high level skills training needed to be a modern manager in public service. although initially specialising in local government we have for a number of years worked right across the public sector providing resourcing, development and organisational consultancy to a wide range of organisations. our customers include local councils, health trusts, police, fire and rescue, housing voluntary sector organisations and private sector service providers. our experience in local government is second to none and we have supported all types of councils
