Solarfi

social and economic development are not possible without energy and electricity. even though africa is blessed with abundant sunshine, nearly one billion inhabitants of africa, 600 million people, lack access to electricity. a primary solution to this power deficit is solar energy. solarfi aims to connect the underserved and unconnected populations in africa through portable solar-powered charging stations - clean power, anywhere, anytime. solarfi provides “business in a box,” and the potential for promoting micro-franchises based on a solar-power-generating center. our life-changing products are developed in conjunction with microsoft’s ai/iot insiders lab, the university of massachusetts, and rensselaer polytechnic institute. in october 2018, solarfi was selected as a top 100 change-maker by harvard and mit. solarfi provides internet in communities that lack access. solarfi addresses 11 out of 17 of the un’s sustainable development goals (sdg’s).
